The history of the Arboretum and the "Pepi Garden" goes back to the Bolza family of Italian origin. After nationalisation, the Arboretum had several owners. The area expanded and new collections were created. Today, the Arboretum has five collections of trees on 82 hectares.
The Szarvas Water Theatre is a unique architectural solution in Hungary, a gentle combination of a finely stylized castle and an amphitheatre, built next to a well-tailored new wooden pedestrian bridge. This stage is intended to provide a kind of all-arts playground for theatre in Hungary and the Carpathian Basin.

The Star Trail Experience Park is the second largest attraction in Ópusztaszer.
The Feszty-portrait (Árpád Feszty: The Entry of the Hungarians). The greatest work of national romanticism. It is an excellent example of patriotism, loyalty, unity, faith, perseverance and creativity. It is impressive not only in its dimensions (120 metres long and 15 metres high), but also in its artistic execution.

In 1989 Szeged joined the ranks of cities that can boast a zoo. The time span from its founding to the present is not long even by human standards, yet it is full of seminal events.
